In a close 5-4 decision, it appears that the Supreme Court finally did something right.
Newsflash, folks: America is a land of equal opportunity, not a land of equal results.
It will be interesting to see how (as noted in the last paragraph of the article) Supreme Court nominee Sotomayor answers the questions that will inevitably arise out of this ruling during her hearings. She’s got a history of having some… interesting opinions on how things should work for minority groups.

What, the unreasonable search and seizure decision wasn’t right enough for you? Or keeping the Voting Rights Act intact and forcing a fix to come legislatively rather than scrapping the whole thing? Or DC v. Heller?
While their recent record hasn’t exactly been what I would call “good” (Thank you very much Justices Roberts and Kennedy), it’s not been ALL bad.
I’m not saying they haven’t had some recent goodness, but this one got public-interest points for directly conflicting with the record of the current nominee for the open seat.
