About.
I’m about 6′1″.
I’m about 235lbs.
I’m about to go to lunch.
I’m about as nerdy as one gets while still being kind of right in the head.
I’m about to be done with this list.
…And I am.
My name’s Phil. I’ve had a blog of sorts since 2003 and decided to move it all off of my previous host due to their ongoing efforts to monetize the bejeezus out of all of the content they host. I’ll still cross-post over that way since I’ve got a lot of relationships over there, but it seemed wise to get my actual content somewhere firmly under my control where I can monetize or not as I see fit.
I’m a software engineer, motorcycle rider, occasional rock climber, hobbyist photographer and the Sausage King of Chicago.
Currently, my blog is being hosted by NearlyFreeSpeech.net, and they seem to do a decent job at not charging me hardly anything since I have pretty minimal traffic. I like that. It’s almost as good as “free”. They’ve got some oddness with PHP permissions that makes getting Wordpress functional a bit of a black art, but I can learn to cope.
My garage is owned by a 2006 Yamaha FJR1300AE, a lawnmower and a mouse that may or may not actually exist.
My desk is owned by my employer, large stacks of paper and empty coffee cups.
My bedroom floor is owned by a large stack of laundry since I’ve not found a dresser I like in two years.
My heart is owned by you, you sweet thing.
My blog doesn’t really have any focus, so I’m very sorry if you’re looking for something in particular. I go from Muppets to politics to technology to motorcycles to food and back around again as the winds blow. Irony and sarcasm are my constant companions and are my way of coping with situations I don’t like.

As an FYI, I’ve presently got the blog set to close down comments on a post after 14 days. If you’ve shown up late to the party, you have my condolences. Comment spam ruins life for everyone.
